Greetings! This is Teacher Bear, I am 42 years old, from California, the USA! I currently live in the Phillippines. I am an excellent pronunciatoin and reading teacher! I have travelled to over 70 countries speak four languages and love to learn about different cultures and lifestyles! Besides teaching, I have also owned and operated a Mixed Martial Arts gym, an Extreme Sports retail store, a woman’s athletic clothing line (In California) as well as a Hostel/Guesthouse for backpackers and eco-tourists in the Philippines. When I was younger I enjoyed training and competing in Combat Sports like Boxing, Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. Now that I am older and my body is a bit worn I enjoy cycling, spearfishing,, and raising my ducks and chickens on my small farm. I also like to read science fiction and of course a nice day at the beach! I have lots of teaching experience at all levels. I have taught business English to Corporate Executives throughout Asia for several industries including but not limited to marketing, food exportation, the steel industry, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Resource Procurement Specialists, and Sales Managers for Transnational Corporations. I have many tools to help you learn English and can customize lessons directly for your needs. Because I have worked with so many companies, public, private, and international schools all around the world I have been trained in many, many different teaching tools and methods and that is great for you, the student! It feels great, as a teacher, to wake up in the morning knowing that I am going to make an impact and be an essential catalyst in the quest for knowledge. It is also great to go to bed at night knowing that my students did progress and learn, which secures a better future for them. I look forward to working together! Let's begin! I am a triple-certified Teacher (Elementary Ed, TEFL, Reading). I have 15 years of teaching experience. 5 years of that I have spent teaching English online. In Thailand, I spent 4 years as a Kindergarten Homeroom teacher by day and at night I taught Business English to Corporate Executives. On the weekends I also taught Phonics and Reading at the I Can Read Foundation. Later on, I also taught at Language centres such as EduFirst, ECC and I-Genius. I then came back to America for the purpose of obtaining a professional teacher's license. While teaching the Spanish Language at the High School level for a little over 2 years, I studied and earned my Professional Elementary Teachers License through West University Florida and the State of Florida in the USA. I earned my 180 hour TEFL certificate in Thailand 19 years ago, in 2002! I have 18 years of experience as a Teacher/Coach/Counsellor and I am a native English speaker as well as a Fluent Spanish Speaker. I can also speak Italian and a bit of Thai. This means that I understand the difficulty and problems as well as the beauty of learning a second and even a third language. I am here to help students overcome the same challenges I had to, and I have a lot of tools, techniques and experience to do so! I am a passionate teacher that is motivated by the learning process. Learning and education can and should be fun and engaging for both the students and teacher!. Achieving results by using a multitude of teaching and learning methodologies and strategies is of paramount importance in my classroom.
